Catching UP!

The past couple months have sure been busy for my little business that could. Thank you to all who have come out to support the shows.

Since I have had no time to blog, I thought I would catch everyone up with one gigantic entry and talk about the shows I've been a part of this past month and a half.

"Nifty for Fifty" was a great little show put on by a friend of mine, Melissa Ferreira of Adhesif Clothing Co.
( http://www.adhesifclothing.com/ ). She worked her ass off and it was all worth it! It turned out to be a FANTASTIC two day sale. Right down on Robson Street in the Art + Soul Gallery at the Pacific Palisades Hotel on April 19th and 20th. You couldn't ask for a better venue or a busier, sunnier weekend, being it was the Vancouver Sun Run and all.

I was amongst some great designers, including:
Adhesif
Toodlebunny ( http://www.toodlebunny.com/ )
Mothertrucker( http://www.mothertrucker.ca/ )
Sassy Vintage ( http://www.sassyvintage.ca/ )
Patina(http://www.patinadesigns.ca/ )
and Milt.

I must not forget the star of the show, Malita, Melissa's mother who kept us all laughing the entire weekend...it wouldn't have been the same without her. Not only did she bring everyone food and laughs...she was the in house seamstress for any loose ends. Thanks Malita!

Portobello West Market

Portobello West ( http://www.portobellowest.com/ ) is one of the biggest markets to be a part of in Vancouver. You can find it on the last Sunday of every month at the Rocky Mountaineer Station. Not only for selling your wares, its also such a great place to meet other local vendors and be a part of the local design community. Every month there is over 100 vendors, from designers of clothing, handbags, accessories, painters, photographers, jewellers and so much more. There really is something there for everyone.

I was lucky enough to be a part of the April and May show, and I had such a great experience. The April show was significantly slower, it was an awful rainy cold day...so I'm guessing no one felt like coming out to shop. The May show was fantastic, the weather definitely changes the outcome of a market like this one. I know what it's like, eventhough the venue is held in doors, if it's a miserable day out I don't want to do anything either. So, thank you to everyone who came out and made the market great this month! If I was going to be in Vancouver all summer, I would definitely want to be a part of the summer shows. Hopefully I will get the chance to be a part of the market this fall.

I teamed up with another local designer, Sue Ainsley
( http://www.delima.etsy.com/ ) to share a booth for the past two shows. We really had a great time and it was such a good experience for both of us. Here's some photos of Sue's stuff.

Here are some pics of my Spring/Summer collection that you would've found at the markets. Do not fret if you like what you see. I will be setting up my online shop real soon and you will be able to purchase some of these designs there! YAY
